Silas Robinson

Silas Robinson was born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania in 1983. The family of seven moved continuously until 1990 when they settled in the Fredericton area. Silas was home-schooled until the seventh grade and he would often draw to pass the time. Upon entering the public school system he fell into drugs and rebelliousness, resulting in his being sent to the Miramichi Youth Detention Center for several years. There, he began to rediscover art and took oil painting lessons twice a week. His attitude quickly changed as did his outlook on life. Silas began working, reading and reflecting – becoming aware of his mistakes and previous negative attitude. Silas realized he could use his art to show others how easy it can be to avoid a destructive path in life by focusing on the positive, and how inner contemplation can lead to success and happiness.
